About WegMetExcel

WegMetExcel helps Dutch SMEs gain more insight with less Excel. The company replaces time-consuming, error-prone Excel processes by collecting data from systems like CRM, accounting, HR and inventory, and turning it into professional Power BI dashboards.

Owner Patrick started the company after years of freelance work, where he kept seeing businesses struggle to combine data from different sources in Excel before they could make a decision. Today WegMetExcel focuses on Power BI report development, data warehouse implementations and helping businesses move away from Excel.

The challenge

Power BI isn’t built for sharing reports with external parties. To give clients access, WegMetExcel placed each client on its own tenant, which made support slow and costly.

  • Complex support: the team constantly switched between remote desktops, and every new colleague needed access to each client environment.
  • Higher costs for clients: every client needed its own infrastructure, which made the service harder to scale.
  • A cluttered experience: the Power BI interface showed workspaces, apps and options that report viewers don’t need, so simply opening a dashboard felt complicated.

The solution

After seeing DataTako on LinkedIn, Patrick decided to give it a try. He now develops reports in his own environment and publishes them straight to a fully white-label portal under his own domain, wegmetexcel.nl. No complex infrastructure is needed.
