# DataTako > DataTako is a white-label Power BI portal for sharing Power BI reports with clients, partners and colleagues on your own domain and branding. Viewers need no Power BI Pro license and no Microsoft account, because DataTako runs on Power BI Embedded ("App owns data") on a Microsoft Fabric or Power BI Embedded capacity from F2 up. Users can also analyse their Power BI semantic models in Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP apps under their own row-level security, and have AI build dashboards that are published in the portal. DataTako is based in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands. Key facts: - Pricing: Launch €279/month, Scale €479/month, Enterprise custom. Every plan includes unlimited users and unlimited reports. The Fabric or Power BI Embedded capacity (F2 or higher) is billed separately by Microsoft. - Free trial: 30 days, no payment details needed. Monthly billing, no lock-in. - Launch includes Power BI reports, paginated reports and PDFs, bookmarks, comments, report insights, RLS and query parameters, full white-label (domain, styling, email), multi-language portals, up to 3 sub-organisations and 1 built-in AI agent. - Scale adds unlimited sub-organisations, Microsoft Entra ID, SAML 2.0 (Okta and others), up to 5 built-in AI agents, AI apps (MCP), AI-built data dashboards, the DataTako API and the iOS and Android app. - Enterprise adds a custom SLA, a dedicated account manager, a branded app in the App Store and Google Play under your own name, unlimited AI agents, priority support, compliance reports and audit logs. - Data: DataTako stores only the metadata needed to map viewers to reports. Report data stays in your own Microsoft tenant. AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.2+ in transit. - Portal and mobile app languages: English, Dutch, German, Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil). Capabilities: - Content: Power BI reports and dashboards, paginated reports with parameters, PDF documents, HTML dashboards and AI-built data dashboards, organised in folders and report groups. Reports and dashboards sync from Power BI workspaces every 15 minutes, optionally limited to one Power BI folder. - Access control: Power BI row-level security (static and dynamic) mapped to users and groups, default RLS roles, report filters and parameters per user or group, a user and report assignment matrix with Excel export, bulk user import from Excel, and "view as user" impersonation for admins. - Sign-in: email and password, passwordless sign-in by emailed code or magic link, Microsoft Entra ID and SAML 2.0 (for example Okta), with a default sign-in method per user. - Microsoft Entra ID sync: provisions users, security groups and roles in advance or just in time, synced every 3 hours or on demand. - Security settings: two-factor authentication enforced per organisation with per-user exceptions, IP whitelisting, password rules and expiry, account lockout and automatic logout after inactivity. - Subscriptions: daily, weekly or monthly report emails, including the first to last weekday of the month, sent as an attachment or in the email body under each recipient's RLS. Viewers can create their own subscriptions, and subscriptions can go to external recipients without an account. Power BI reports export to PDF, PowerPoint and PNG. Paginated reports export to PDF, accessible PDF, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CSV, XML and images. - Smart alerts: a DAX measure is checked against a threshold hourly, daily, weekly, monthly or on a custom schedule, under the recipient's RLS, with optional context queries in the alert email. - Collaboration: comments with attachments on reports and documents, bookmarks shared with individuals, groups or everyone, and saved report state per viewer. - Embedding: embed reports in your own applications, in AFAS Profit (Dutch ERP, with report parameters from the AFAS session) or in SharePoint Online through a web part with silent Microsoft sign-in. Public embed links have a validity window and are not available for RLS reports. - Data writeback (management forms): Excel-like editing of SQL Server and PostgreSQL tables and views, with Excel download and upload, read-only access per user or group, and separate AI read, insert, update and delete permissions. - Capacity cost control: pause and resume a Fabric capacity on a weekly schedule or automatically after inactivity, and let users trigger a dataset refresh with live status. - Built-in AI agent: a chat next to each report, as a standalone chat, and in the mobile app, answering with KPIs, tables and charts under the viewer's RLS. It runs on your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI or Azure AI Foundry key, with token or request budgets per organisation, key, agent or user. - AI apps (MCP): works with Claude (desktop and claude.ai), ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and any app that supports remote MCP. The tools cover semantic model exploration and DAX queries, management form rows, and building data dashboards. Off by default, opt-in per report, AI agent and management form. Runs on the user's own AI subscription, with no DataTako AI credits. - Sub-organisations: create, copy, migrate and transfer client organisations, each with its own users, branding, domain and settings.
